All about Saffy ...
After
2 months without a dog, Susan decided that the time had come to “just
go and have a look”! At Hull Animal Welfare, Susan and Grandma spent
time looking around until Susan spotted a bottom and a very waggy tail. The
bottom was attached to a long body, a big head and sticking out ears, a characterful
‘designer dog!
This ‘designer dog’ was taken to meet Robby, the third member
of the selection panel, and he gave us his approval. Formal vetting and checking
completed, the decision was made, Saffy was to become the next Dog Shop dog!
Saffy had never been in a car before, did not recognise the word ’walk’,
did not know how to play ball or chase, loved children and other dogs and
was in fact the perfect dog.
6 weeks later and Saffy takes her responsibilities very seriously, sporting
her shop uniform, a bandana, she meets and greets, demonstrates clothes, toys
and beds, keeps customers happy whilst their owners browse around the shop
and is a general attraction with people coming in especially to see her. It’s
only the start of her Dog Shop career but we all hope it will be a long and
successful one. We will keep you up to date with all the things that she does
in her column of the newsletter, “Saffy’s successes and secrets”!
